Other Ways to Give
At Unity Spiritual Center Denver, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community. If you are considering other ways to contribute, here are a few options that may be especially beneficial for you:
Tax-free IRA Distributions to Unity Spiritual Center Denver
If you are 70 ½ or older and own a traditional IRA, you have the opportunity to make a charitable distribution from your retirement account without paying income tax on the distribution. You can donate up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to Unity Spiritual Center Denver (USCD).
This contribution can be directed to our general operating fund, a specific program, or even split between the two—whatever you feel aligns best with your intentions. As long as the distribution is made directly from the IRA to USCD and the account holder is 70 ½ or older, it will be tax-free. You may also use this distribution to satisfy your required minimum distribution.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
If you're considering a year-end gift to financially support USCD, gifting appreciated securities (such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds) can be one of the most effective ways to maximize your contribution while minimizing taxes. To qualify for tax advantages, the securities must have been held for at least one year.
When you donate appreciated assets directly to USCD, you avoid paying capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of your gift. You also have the flexibility to direct your donation to the general operating fund, a specific program, or split it between both.
